radiant orchid.

Today is officially the first day of Fall so I decided to dress appropriately. Since the weather seems to be stuck in Summer mode I chose to stick with an outfit that wouldn't leave me a sweltering mess by mid-day (it's still reaching the low 80's most afternoons). Fingers crossed that the next few weeks will cool down enough for scarves and boots!

Happy Monday!

this vs. that: fall boots

1.  left: Old Navy // right: Rag + Bone
2.  left: Old Navy // right: Madewell
3.  left: Target // right: Frye

Sorry riding boots. It's been real, but I think it's over. It's not you, it's me...and my heart now belongs to ankle boots.

Jk, jk. I could never give up completely on my favorite riding boots (which just happen to be the Madewell Archive boots pictured above), but ankle boots are just so easy! Easy to slip on, easy to find the perfect fit (I don't know about you but I probably tried on about 30 pairs of riding boots before I found some that fit my short little legs), and overall they're much cheaper!

Can I just share with all of you how much I love these Old Navy Strappy Ankle Boots (so much so that I got them in both brown and black)! They're amazingly comfortable...and the best part is, they're less than 10% the cost of the Rag + Bone version! Seriously, it's a no brainer!

What are you leaning towards this fall...ankle or riding boots? Have you found any new favorites yet?

polka dots [on repeat]

I feel like I have about seven variations of this outfit (polka dot blouse, skinny slacks, and a cardigan/ blazer)...and I've probably worn all of them by now on the blog! I'm feeling a little uninspired fashion-wise lately...I think I'm just tired of summer clothes. I think I've finally given in and am ready for fall. Now if only the Bay Area weather would cooperate!

fall is in the air.

blazer: H&M (old, similar on clearance!) // blouse: Forever 21 // flower pin: H&M
skirt: Crossroads Trading Co (similar) // heels: J. Crew via eBay (similar) // watch: Michael Kors

Fall is definitely in the air. The past few mornings I've woken up and had put another quilt on the bed...there's a chill in the air! In turn, I've taken to wearing a cardigan or blazer to work most days. Luckily I just scored the best deal ever on Poshmark (more on that to come!)...but for now, here's an outfit I put together from some old favorites. I love versatile pieces like these. I've worn each of these pieces separately many times, but put them together for a new outfit today.

What are you favorite versatile pieces to mix and match?

a vintage vibe.

dress: H+M (old, similar, similar) // necklace: Stella & Dot
heels: Target (old, similar, love these) // nails: Sinful Colors, Energetic Red

.
Hope you all had a  great weekend! Sorry for the lack of posts last week but I had an incredibly busy week at work...you know how that goes! :)

Paisley is one of those fabrics that always seems very 'vintage' to me. I scored this dress at H+M a couple of seasons back and immediately fell in love with the colorful pattern, as well as the flattering fit + flare shape. Rather than pairing with a nude pump I decided to go with a contrasting red heel with a thick stacked heel (so comfortable!). After taking these photos I realized that my nails just happened to match my shoes perfectly....love when that happens!

Overall, I'd say this look is a bit of a departure from my normal style, but I figured it was a fun fall-transition outfit!

black & yellow.

blouse: H&M // shorts: Crossroads Trading Co (similar) // earrings: ModCloth // watch: Michael Kors // wedges: Toms via eBay

.
I hope everyone out there had a great Labor Day weekend! Now that summer is kinda/sorta over, it seems as though everyone is transitioning towards a more "fall" inspired look...except for this girl! I don't know what the weather was like in your neck of the woods over the long weekend, but here in the Bay Area IT. WAS. HOT. It actually seems as though each year the summer gets warmer and warmer, but that's for a different time!

Anyways, while the weather's still in the 80's and 90's I'll be rocking my summer wardrobe while I still can!
