on wednesdays we wear pink.

shirt: H+M (old, similar) // skirt: Crossroads Trading Co (similar, similar) // necklace: Urban Peach Boutique (old, similar) // heels: Ann Taylor (budget friendly option) // watch: Michael Kors

.
Today I'm wearing another one of my finds from Crossroads Trading Co...I got this this pink knife-pleated skirt for a whopping $4.25. Yes, you read that right, four dollars and twenty-five cents! It's a vintage skirt (no label), and it was marked half off. It's slightly sheer, so I wore a slip (thanks for the tip Jean!).

When I wear a bold color like this, I try to pair it with something a little more neutral or basic...so I went with one of my many striped shirts. Adding a pink statement necklace and my favorite black heels completed the look!

Stay tuned next week for a couple of more looks I scored at Crossroads!

Turquoise. Aqua. Teal. Tiffany Blue. It's no secret this is my favorite color, no matter what you may call it. Today I've collected some of my recent turquoise picks...everything from the perfect summer dress, to ballet flats, to the Aqua Blue Kitchen Aid Mixer I have my eye on for my birthday!

I found so many great picks that I couldn't contain them all in one image, so be sure to check out these awesome turquoise picks  as well: a fun cart from Ikea (perfect for a mini bar cart!), a minty blue beach cruiser, my favorite BPA free water bottle, a budget friendly version of the J. Crew beaded rose necklace, and a great sheer summer shirt!

And just in case you're not sure how to wear a turquoise shirt or what to pair it with, I've provided you with some of my favorite colors to wear it with! Almost anything goes, just wear it with confidence!

Have any of you found any great turquoise pieces I may have missed?

seeing stripes.

shirt: Loft (old, similar) // pants: Banana Republic // necklace: H+M (old) // bracelets: F21 (old, similar) // shoes: J. Crew Factory

I don't know about you ladies, but when I open my closet, I see an overwhelming number of striped shirts...and I'd say more than half of those are black and white stripes. I think I have a problem, though in my defense b+w stripes are just so easy to wear with almost anything...they're a classic!

This is the b+w version of this shirt from a few weeks back. I only wish that Loft had made this shirt available again this summer so I could pick it up in a few more colors! #suckerforstripes :)

a plain white t.

shirt: Forever 21 // jeans: Forever 21 // necklace: Forever 21 (similar) // flats: Target
watch: Michael Kors // bracelets: Forever 21

Well, this isn't exactly a "T," but close enough :)

Today's outfit is pretty simple, which is great for summer...no fuss! I got this great white sleeveless blouse from Forever 21 a couple of weeks back and I've worn it more times than I care to admit so far! I'd actually been looking for a white blouse with a simple crew necklace to wear with statement necklaces, and this one fit the bill perfectly...for less than $15! So far I've paired this blouse with jeans, tucked into a pleated skirt, and under a summer blazer for work.

Have any of you ladies found any great new pieces for summer lately?

Happy Friday!

closet staple: basic blue oxford shirt

shirt: H+M // skirt: H+M (old, similar) // necklace: World Market
heels: Ann Taylor (budget friendly option) // watch: Michael Kors

This simple blue oxford shirt is one of my most worn closet staples. A classic cut, I can wear this tucked into a skirt as shown here, layered under a sweater in cooler weather, or my favorite...under a shift dress!

Every working girl needs a few of these shirts in their wardrobe. I have black, white, blue, pinstripe, and pale pink from H&M, though you can also find great options at Target, Gap, Old Navy, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers...almost anywhere! You just have to find the right fit for your shape!

watercolors.

dress: Kensie via Crossroads Trading Co // necklace: World Market // wedges: J. Crew Factory
watch: Michael Kors // earrings: Kate Spade

I'd been on the lookout for a watercolor print dress after seeing Jessica wear this beautiful dress on Bows + Sequins a few weeks back. Fast forward to last week when I found this Kensie dress for only $16.50 at Crossroads Trading Co! I've mentioned Crossroads before, but if you're not aware they sell "recycled fashion." Basically, you can sell or trade your clothes, shoes, and jewelry and they resell those items...thrifting, but much better! And before you ask...no, this is not a sponsored post; I just really love Crossroads! :)

Back to the dress! I spotted this dress right away in the racks and luckily it happened to be my size! I loved the black trim on the cap sleeves and neckline, which worked perfectly with a skinny black belt and patent wedges for a day in the office!

The Kensie dress looks like it's sold out at Macy's, but check out these similar options here, here, here, here, and here! Stay tuned next week for more of my finds from Crossroads!

Have any of you ladies our there had any luck at Crossroads (or thrifting) lately?

red, white, and blue [take 2].

shirt: Old Navy // jeans: Target // flats: Toms via eBay (similar) // necklace: World Market
watch: Michael Kors // bracelets: Urban Peach Boutique + J. Crew Factory

Not only did I wear my new favorite red dress on the 4th, but I kept the theme going all weekend with this red, white, and blue outfit. Simple yet effective in showing your patriotic spirit...and really, any opportunity to wear a nautical outfit right!?!

Below you can see the same outfit where I swapped out the red flats for leather sandals...a little more subdued and perfect for any time...you can never go wrong with chambray and white skinnies!

Hope you all had a great long weekend...I wasn't ready for it to end!

red, white, and red.

dress: eShakti (c/o) // shoes: Rampage via eBay (similar) // necklace: Tiffany & Co (similar, similar

Originally, I wanted to title this post "red, white, and blue"...but I couldn't bring myself to clutter up this look by adding anything else. I love the simplicity of this dress with only the additions of an anchor necklace and red wedges. eShakti was kind enough to send me this dress, and I thought it was the perfect outfit for the Fourth of July. If you are not familiar with eShakti I encourage you to check out their site. Their dresses are very reasonably priced, and they have a huge selection of fit + flare, and retro inspired dresses. The best thing about eShakti...their dresses are customizable! Not only is this red dress fully lined, but it contains pockets (love that in skirts/dresses), and I was able to add a cap sleeve and shorten the hem to fit my 5'2" frame. End result, a custom dress that fits me perfectly! I highly recommend trying them out!

Tomorrow I'll be wearing this little number and spending the day with friends and family at a BBQ...I hope all of you have a fun (and safe) holiday weekend!

Happy Fourth of July!
